Ludwigsfelde biomass CHP is fuelled by fresh cut wood.
Around 40% of supply is provided by Land Brandenburg, 60% via private suppliers. Delivery is contractually ensured for five to ten years. The technique used is stoker-fired with thermal oil as the heat transfer medium and an ORC (organic rankine cycle) turbine process unit to produce power. All heat and power is supplied to local industry.
